5 Creative Ways to Say You're Sorry

Saying sorry is never easy, especially when you've done something that really upset the other person. But when you come up with creative ways to apologize, it can be effective in making the person forgive you right away.

Apologies should not just be expressed through words. You need to show it if you really mean it. Exert a little effort and come up with gestures that show your sincerity and regret. The more creative it is, the more memorable and effective it will be.

Use pictures

Take a few pictures of yourself looking really sorry while holding up a sign that says "I'm Sorry." You can decorate the sign if you want. Upload one picture on the person's computer and set it as the desktop background. The next time he/she uses the computer, your apology will be the first thing that comes up. You can also print out another copy of the same photo and leave it somewhere visible, like on the fridge door, or on his/her desk at work.

Create a mix-tape

Okay, mix-tapes aren't a thing anymore but people are still playing CDs when they're from a special person! So, make a mix-CD that contains your heartfelt apology that you recorded on your mobile phone or computer, plus a compilation of songs that he/she likes, or songs that relate to your current situation. You can either drop it off at the person's house or mail it. It's a novel idea that he/she will appreciate.

And then there's services like Deezer; mix-tapes can be virtual, too.

Food

A way to a man's, and also a woman's heart is through their stomach. Use the magic of food to show your apology. You can bake a cake and write the words "I'm Sorry" on top using bright colored frosting, or bake a batch of cupcakes with single letter toppings that spell out the word "Sorry." You can even order pizza and have the baker arrange the toppings to form the word "Sorry." Or you can also take the person on a picnic and bring all of his/her favorite food.

Make an apology video

Take a video of yourself apologizing. It doesn't need to be done with a professional camera. You can use a decent smart phone for this. You can recite a poem or sing a song that relates to how you're feeling and conveys the message you want to send. Edit the video on your computer and add some special effects if necessary. You can even add some of your photos together, so that the person receiving the apology is reminded of the happy memories you've shared together.

Burn your finished project to a DVD and send it to the person whom you want to apologize to, through mail. If the person watches movies at home often, you can even secretly insert the disc into his/her DVD player so that when he/she turns the TV on, your apology video will play. The element of surprise works like magic on a lot of people! Just don't put it on YouTube and set it to "public".

Let your dog deliver the message

Write a heartfelt note saying how sorry you are. Attach it to your pet's collar using a cute ribbon and the person you're apologizing to will see the note once he/she pets the dog. That would definitely bring a smile to the person's face!

Apologies are better expressed through actions. They are appreciated even more when accompanied by appropriate gestures. So, make the person forgive you by showing how truly sorry you are, rather than just saying the words. Use your charm and humor, and surely, you'll be in good terms again!
