From Sloppy to Hottie How to Make Him Improve His Hygiene

Maintaining proper hygiene is important for everyone. It's not just about looking good. Good hygiene is also paramount to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It prevents disease and improves the overall well-being of a person. Poor hygiene, on the other hand, is simply unhealthy and bothersome.

If your boyfriend has a problem keeping his hygiene in check, it will not only affect his health, but your relationship as well. Kissing someone with bad breath or an itchy beard, or sleeping next to someone with terrible body odor are just some of the things you don't want to regularly experience in your relationship. Surely, you enjoy someone's company better when they know how to take care of themselves.

To help you out are some tips on getting his hygiene back on track.

Express your concerns

There's no better way to do it than to just let him know something's bothering you. Sit down with him in a comfortable place and express your concerns toward his hygiene.

However, avoid rude comments and hurtful words. Instead, tell him what you like about him, and then chime in the things that bother you.

For example, if he hasn't shaved his beard for months, let him know that you like kissing him, but his beard feels uncomfortable on your chin. It also helps to assure him that he'll look just fine without it.

Do grocery shopping together

Go to a grocery store together and steer him to the hygiene section and pick up the necessary supplies. Tell your boyfriend that you noticed he's almost running out on toiletries, such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc. Throw in all the required products in the cart.

However, if you can't go to the grocery store together for some reason, you can pick up his toiletries yourself during your spare time. If his hair smells bad because he doesn't wash it often, pick up a nice smelling shampoo. When you give it to him, simply tell him that you liked the scent that's why you bought it.

Do laundry together

If your boyfriend has a habit of wearing his clothes more than twice because he's too lazy to do the laundry or doesn't have the time for it, how about you suggest doing the laundry together.

Most guys usually throw their clothes anywhere after taking them off and this makes it hard to distinguish which are clean and which are not. To prevent him from sniffing off every piece of clothing he finds when he needs to get dressed, you can get him a hamper so he can easily keep track of his soiled and clean clothes.

Remind him about hygiene

Drop in a few reminders about his hygiene every now and then. It doesn't have to be a note that says, "Brush your teeth three times a day," or "Apply deodorant every morning"

Reminders can come in different forms, such as putting a bottle of liquid soap on the sink, positioning his toothbrush near the bathroom mirror, or arranging the toiletries in an accessible area. This way, he sees the hygiene products and will not forget to use them.

Clean the house together

Spend free time together by cleaning the house. A person's environment can change how they behave. So, if you keep the house neat, he may also want to be as neat too.

Even though you love hanging out with your boyfriend, you can't deny that you're bothered by his poor hygiene. If he has lived that way for a very long time, chances are he's not going to be able to change his ways on his own. So, help him through it and soon enough, he'll turn from sloppy to hottie!
