Talking to your girlfriend over the phone has become one of your favorite past times. Even though you're not physically together, talking to each other just makes you feel closer to her.
However, if it starts to seem like she always wants to end the conversation sooner, but you still want to keep it going, you need to find ways to keep her interested. Here are some of our suggestions.
Make her talk about herself
Ask her questions about herself. About her day, her family, favorite food, her type of music, the last move she watched. She'll love getting asked of questions like these because it shows you're interested in her. You'll have plenty of things to talk about and you won't even notice time pass.
Make plans
Brainstorm for fun activities that you two can do together. If the weekend is coming up, look for something fun to do. Spend time on the phone discussing your plans.
Offer to hang up after she hangs up
If you've watched rom-coms and chick flicks with your girl before, you're probably already familiar with the old "I'll hang up after you hang up" game. You can play this game with her and end up not hanging up at the time she originally planned. Avoid being the first one to hang up too because it might hurt her feelings, especially when your relationship is still new.
Be talkative
If you're aren't saying much over the phone, she may have good reason to want to stop the conversation. If you're too quiet, she might get the feeling that you're not interested in talking to her, so she's going to want to hang up sooner.
Tell her something interesting
Share something particularly interesting that happened to you that day. Whether it can be something trivial or a problem that has been bothering you, tell her about it. You can work your conversation around the topic.
Make her laugh
Throw in your humor into the conversation. Tell her about a new joke that you just learned, about a funny incident that happened at work/school, or just anything that will make her laugh. She'll want to stay on the phone longer when she's enjoying your talk.
Ask random questions
If you run out of topics to talk about, go random! Just ask the first question that pops up into your head. Just remember to not ask any questions that can possibly make her feel uncomfortable.
Just tell her you want to talk longer
Honesty goes a long way. So, just tell her that you want to talk to her more. She'll appreciate your honestly and feel flattered. She might even think you're sweet.
Listen actively
In order to keep a two-way conversation going, you must actively listen to what she's saying. It's also good to bring up something she has mentioned before to show her that you really have been paying attention. She'll appreciate that you bothered to keep tabs on the conversation.
. Know when it's the right time to call
Don't call her when she's too tired. You don't want to force her to talk to you for hours if she doesn't have the energy for it. Even though you miss her and you really want to talk, be understanding when she's had a long day at work and would want to rest. Also, ask if she is able to talk on the phone. She might be driving or doing a task that needs focus.
Just keep these tips in mind and you'll never have a hard time keeping your girlfriend on the phone.
